Teaching large courses presents a unique set of instructional challenges. How to design and deliver large-scale instruction that engages students in deep learning? How to maintain students’ interest? How to meaningfully assess their learning? How to keep our classrooms from becoming increasingly impersonal? These and other challenges of large courses will be addressed by this year’s Symposium.

The focal event will be faculty presentations on approaches to teaching large courses. There will also be opportunities to participate in roundtable discussions and drop-in technology demos. The event is designed so that you may attend all or part, depending on your availability.
