Faculty Instructional Technology Workshops - Request a Workshop

Instructional Computing staff are available on a limited basis to teach workshops in web publishing technology for students and faculty by special arrangment. These workshops must be requested by a faculty member.

We ask that you follow these guidelines when requesting a class:

  • Know specifically what you want your students to learn. Possible topics are: Web browsing, searching on the web, web publishing, HTML, etc.
  • Find out what your students already know beforehand and plan accordingly. If the class is not mandatory, find out how many students plan on attending so that we can schedule appropriate lab space.
  • Find out when your students can be available. Our staff members are available for teaching during limited hours that vary by quarter so some flexibility is required.
  • Plan on meeting with a FITC staff member at some point before the class(es) to go over the details of what you would like taught. This meeting should take about an hour.

Please be aware that workshops must be scheduled at least two business weeks in advance. The more information you can give us, the better we will be able to teach your class.

To request a workshop, contact Robin Ove at x9-5506, email fitc@ucsc.edu, or fill out our online Workshop Request Form.
