Introduction
Online discussions can be used in a variety of ways:
- Have students post responses to questions about the reading before lecture to ensure they come to class prepared.
- Students can use private discussion boards to coordinate small group projects.
- TAs and students can use private discussion boards to communicate within sections.
- Online discussions can "prime the pump" for in-class discussions or enable students who are too shy to talk in class to contribute.
