Introduction
Online quizzes are an excellent way to help students focus on the most important points of a lesson, and to give them immediate feedback on whether or not they understand the material.
Many instructors use quizzes as a way of ensuring that students do required reading before class so that class time can be more productively spent clarifying and expanding on the reading rather than simply delivering the content.
Students at UCSC are generally positive about the use of online quizzes. For more information about how UCSC students feel about WebCT, take a look at the report on our 2006 WebCT Student and Instructor Survey.
