WebCT - Login InstructionsLog onto your computer, connect to the internet, open a browser, and navigate to http://ic.ucsc.edu/webct. First you may want to make sure you have a Browser version that is supported by WebCT and that it is correctly configured. Click the "Check Browser" link on the entry page to verify if your browser will operate correctly with WebCT. 
You should see the Welcome to WebCT screen. Select "Log in to" myWebCT. You must have had an account set prior to logging onto a course. The See courses page shows all of the courses available on WebCT; however, you will only be able to log into the courses you have been enrolled in by your instructor. 
Fill in the requested information on this screen. Make sure that you know your WebCT ID and Password. The WebCT ID and password is the same as your UCSC login and password (used to check your email). For example, if a student's email address was jrsmith@ucsc.edu, the user would use jrsmith as their WebCT ID and the password used is the same as the one used to check the account's email. The WebCT ID and Password are case sensitive and should contain only numbers, letters, underscores ( '_' ) or periods. Although you may not change your WebCT ID, if you are unhappy with your UCSC password you may change it at the UCSC/ITS password change form. If you have forgotten your UCSC account password, you will need to contact the Help Desk. 
If you are enrolled in only one course, you should see the Home Page for that course. If you are enrolled in multiple courses using WebCT, you will see a listing of those courses, click on the name of the course you wish to access to view that course's Home Page. To more easily access this site in the future, add a Bookmark (Netscape), or add it to your Favorites (IE) 
You may also add a WebCT login module to your myUCSC home page. Congratulations! You're ready to roll! Follow the instructions on the course Homepage to begin. For assistance with logon problems, please contact your instructor or completing the WebCT Contact form or call 459-5506. |
