Students will be evaluated by their performance on:

• 2 midterm exams: 200 points each
• 1 comprehensive final exam: 200 points
• 8 lab or field trip assignments: 30 points each
• library assignment and abstract: 30 points
• presentation: 30 points
• lecture attendance and quizzes: 100 points

There are a total of 1000 points possible for the course. Letter grades will be determined at the end of the quarter based on straight percentages:

• 900+ points: A
• 800-899 points: B
• 700-799 points: C

At any time during the class you should be able to calculate your grade by adding up all the points you have and dividing by the number of points possible.

Midterm exams will be given only on the dates specified in the class syllabus. Make-ups will not be allowed. The final exam date and time are set by the registrar and cannot be changed by the instructor. There will be no early or late final exams given.
