Discussion of
selected topics in marine pelagic ecology; physical and biological factors
affecting production in marine food chains, adaptations to the pelagic habitat,
and the distribution of planktonic organisms. Students cannot receive credit
for this course and course 240. (Also offered as Biology 146. Students may
not receive credit for both courses.) Prerequisite: Biology 20B; one marine
sciences course recommended as preparation. Enrollment restricted to seniors;
juniors may enroll with permission of instructor.
