Mono Lake is a saline Lake in California on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada, just east of Yosemite National Park. In unique and beautiful landscape, Mono Lake is even more unique in its chemical and biological characteristics. Mono Lake is a saline lake, and has numerous subsurface springs, which have led to geological formations called tufa columns.
